Hi, I’m a regular on the Q&A board. You’ve probably noticed that the banner ads at the top of the page are gone. Sweetness was using that as a small source of money to offset the cost of maintaining these boards.
Now that Google has cut off that option, she needs another way of financing this site. If you enjoy chatting here and would like these boards to continue, consider making a small donation to help with the cost. $10/month would go a long way to keep the site going. There’s a “donation” link on the homepage that goes through Paypal.

Thally…No, I would love to though. My Great Uncle that raised me was born in Port Williams, Scotland he came here during WWI and served as a blacksmith in the army. His name was Francis McGarva and he was not only my Papa, he was my idol!

Aaaww , sorry to hear of your wee doggies troubles …You are a very responsible person to have had them neutred though , difficult choice to make but the correct one and I admire you for it …Wish more breeders showed the same ethics , but sadly too few do
…………. Have you ever been to Scotland ? -

thally…Sorry, I misunderstood. I have 2 shelties, Rebel & Reno that are now show quality. Rebel because he had lance canines and Reno because he has thyroid and alergy issues. Both were bought to show and Reno was pointed as a pup, but I neutered them both after their problems surfaced. I have competed with both of them in obedience trials and they are both titled but no conformation or puppies from them. They are pretty much my little couch potatoes. LOL

Hey Chivas , the Collie is almost 15 and still a virgin ( LOL ) the wee Pap we got 18 months ago from a breeder ….He`s not show material but makes the most loving and loyal pet .He`s very clever and lots of fun too , and most importantly the Collie adores him as much as wee do .
I knew your Dogs were Shelties
which is why I posted the following …………Thally 3:51 PM on November 2, 2011 | 0 | # | e

Smileyriley0…These are all shelties. I show them at both Conformation shows and Obedience Trials. My Avitar is my GCH Karmuns White Chocolate Mocha, GCH is Grand Champion. I also have a female not pictured, CH Karmuns Deja’ Vu who is only 6 points away from her Grand Champion title but she is taking time off from dog shows to have babies! The little ones are due the day after Thanksgiving, or when she decides. LOL

Chivas, your collies are gorgeous!! Like the austrailian cross ones…and love the short shelties..had a lady bring her dog(sheltie-Molly) down to the nursing home and she had to visit everyone and most of the staff and ones that didnt want to pet her she knew didnt and would not go to them when come in to visit..Neighbors dog and I were best buds when growing up till Junior High when would ride bike to school and she would be huffing and puffing so I would slow down and stop and tell her to go HOME and she would reluctantly go home..she was a good terrier mix and lived a good life till she had to be put down..then neighbors got a beagle, and he and I didnt like each other as it was tooo soon after the dog I told you about so he didnt stay long there as he howled when he wanted in at nite and when cold etc..so they got rid of him and no more dogs for neighbor…and I meanwhile had accumulated 2 kittens from a stray cat I befriended…and had Julie, Susie cat for 19 yrs..nice ones too…rest her soul..

a pet chat huh…i have a pet so i guess i can come on here….i have a human i call him r.c…. he is homely looking and not very intelligent or friendly but i have learned to put up with him.. when he gets out of hand i usually put on his muzzle.. i would not even need him around if i could reach the pedals on the truck myself. but i cant, so i guess i will keep him around until i figure a way to do it myself.. i will check here from time to time to see how ya’ll are getting along

shirley, sprinkle a little bit of talcom or baby power where the matts seem to form the most. It helps keep the hair from knotting up and will also help make the knots slippery when you try to get them out.
-
chivas
WOW, I didn’t even know there was a Pet Chat here.
Thank you sweetness!
Here is a little about me and my pack.

hi all, was reading Shirley’s problem…how about a device called “the furminator” it desheds the cat or dog and has wide tines for going thru coat and getting the undercoat out..my neighbor has 1 for her two cats that are short hair and her and I have gotten alot of fur out..Harry likes to try to get it when brushing him as he is a playbaby…at 7yrs..and Maisy loves to be brushed and dont try to “get it” like Harry…Think you can find maybe Petco or Petsmart??? I havent looked lately..dont have a cat companion at the moment but will next yr..

Cat knots? Maybe he need vitamins to help the hair, i.e. vitamin supplement, they make it in a malted flavor, cats like it. Would take a while to fix the hair issue though. Brush well.

Hi everyone

Anyone have any ideas or know of products that will help with knots in my cats fur? I know brushing every day should do it but I swear he gots all knotted over night.

Donna, ya dont know how he acted yrs ago or what happened at the vets office yrs ago to turn him into psycho cat when ya go…he prolly remembers the bad deed done to him and associates that with ALL VETS…now!! There is something called Felliway for calming cats down…see if ya can find it on internet…Dr.Jon newsletter is a good place to check as he does ads for different things …try petplace.com or the petplace.com…hope it works for you and kitty…wish I knew this with my own cat I used to have as would have avoided a lot of troubles…
